Consulting & Executive Advising

Are you and your organization moving so fast that the culture has been forgotten, eroded, or evolved into something you never intended?

Have you or your employee base lost your magic or spark and do you feel like you are just going through the motions?

Has your employee engagement dropped in ways that you don’t understand?

Are you having trouble getting employee buy-in with changes that you are bringing to your organization?

Do you want to be better known and seen as an organization that is an effective and trusted community partner?

If you answered yes to any of those questions, you’re not alone —

The Undercurrent can help.

The Undercurrent works with corporations, nonprofits, and civic organizations on the conditions that determine whether people genuinely thrive together. The invisible but deeply felt conditions of trust, engagement, and community that make everything else possible.

The consulting practice works with organizations on rebuilding culture and improving employee engagement, the conditions that determine whether an organization can actually fulfill its mission. This work is not fast. It requires listening to the stories beneath the surface, seeing and learning from each other again, building new connections, tending to relationships that have been neglected, co-creating new ways of being together, and experimenting to find what works and let go of what no longer does.

The Undercurrent uses a collaborative model. Not a prescribed solution dropped into your organization, but a process built with you. The Undercurrent is for organizations willing and ready to do something different — willing to take the time and do the intentional work of creating a workplace where people thrive, the mission can breathe again and the organization can perform at its full potential.

Angela brings experience across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors, building systems, leading national initiatives, and doing the unglamorous work of building culture inside large institutions. She knows what these conditions look like when they're present, and what it takes to build them when they're not.

The executive advising practice works directly with senior leaders, one-to-one, over time. It's for CEOs and executives navigating culture, carrying complexity, building something new, or sitting with decisions that don't have clean answers. For leaders who want a thought partner willing to look honestly at what's in the room and what might be missing. Angela has spent 20 years in and around executive leadership, as a policy advisor to a Governor, coaching and advising municipal leaders across the country on using data to drive real policy change, advising CEOs and senior executives on leadership that fosters cultures of belonging and on corporate social responsibility, serving on boards of directors, and as a senior executive herself. She leads with questions, helping leaders reconnect with their own sense of knowing that gets lost in the noise of day-to-day leadership.
