What We Offer
Consulting & Executive Advising
The Undercurrent's consulting and executive practice works with corporations, nonprofits, and civic organizations on the conditions that determine whether people genuinely thrive together, specifically the invisible but deeply felt conditions of trust, engagement, and community that make everything else possible. The work focuses on two things: helping organizations build the internal conditions where people genuinely thrive, and helping organizations show up as real neighbors in the communities where they operate.
Speaking
Angela Russell has been on stages her whole life — first as a musician, then (by her own admission, awkwardly) as a dancer, and eventually as a speaker. She knows what it means to be in a room with an audience, to feel when something is alive and when it isn't, and to make the subtle shifts that bring everyone into the conversation. She has delivered keynotes nationally and internationally, emceed major civic events, and shared keynote conversations with leaders including Dr. Helene Gayle and Michelle Williams of Destiny's Child. As founder of The Undercurrent and a former Chief Diversity Officer and Foundation President, Angela speaks from twenty-five years at the intersection of culture, community, and systems change — grounded in science, experience, a reverence for all that is sacred and evolving, and the knowledge that we all have a role in making this world better.Gathering
The Undercurrent's curated gatherings are designed with care, small by intention, experiential by design, and built around the belief that the right room, held well, can change how people see themselves and each other, and offer a glimpse of what becomes possible when people truly connect.
Change happens at the speed of trust and connection. Angela has been designing and hosting intentional gatherings for years, across contexts that range from government policy discussions and public health convening to book groups, retreats, and workshops on what it means for everyone to truly belong. Each one built around the same conviction: that when people are brought together with care and intention, something shifts. These new branches of connection shift the framing from what can't be done to what possibility is emerging.
Undercurrent gatherings create the conditions for exactly that, the necessary conversations and connections that spark something new.If you're interested in working with us, complete the form with a few details about your project. We'll review your message and get back to you soon.
